In order to provide a more effective service for both professional workmen and do-it-yourself enthusiasts , XL Byg constantly seeks to facilitate the purchase and handling of timber products. An 80 metre long compact rack exploits the space and manpower of their timber yard in the best possible way.
Solution:
The installation consists of galvanized P90 Silverline racks equipped with rollers. The timber is stored and picked by means of a jigger. Before and after pick or storage the rollers are locked.
The installation has 5 levels, the upper level is a multi tier installation with 3 pallet gates. Each bay is 130 cm wide with a capacity of 4 tons (lower). The other levels have a capacity of 3 tons. The system has a depth of between 5 and 6 metres.
With their old system XL Byg took 1½ to 2 hours to place a timber package, whereas now it takes 10 to 15 minutes.
