Svenska Bil i Norden AB is a agent of domestic and imported cars and are associated with brands such as SAAB, Nissan, Opel, KIA, Chevrolet, Cadillac and Mitsubishi. With new models being launched every year there was a continuous demand for storage, so increasing their efficiency was a logical solution.
The company had recently moved to a new sales and service centre in Stockholm and were keen to invest in a highly efficient vertical machine storage systems to meet the demand for quicker access to spare parts. But they had a problem, space was limited at their new premises.
Solution:
The solution was to replace the old manual picking shelving systems with two Paternoster vertical storage machines and one Tornado vertical storage machine. This solution resulted in a space saving of 450m², reducing it from 600m² to 150 m². Plus there was a reduction of warehouse employees from 9 to 5. In addition a new small warehouse was built to store 4,000 tyres and we installed 18 mobiles with between 3 and 5 levels in each.
