Dexion Sweden invests in more sustainable heating with support from Klimatklivet

Dexion Sweden is taking another concrete step towards reducing the climate impact of its operations. At our facility in Fellingsbro, Sweden, the existing oil-based heating system will be replaced with a geothermal heat pump, supported by funding from Klimatklivet.

The Swedish Environmental Protection Agency (Naturvårdsverket) has approved climate investment support for Dexion Sverige AB to upgrade the heating system at its Fellingsbro facility, replacing the current oil-based solution with geothermal heating.

From oil to geothermal heating

The investment will replace the current oil-based heating solution at Fellingsbro with a geothermal heat pump.

By moving away from oil, Dexion Sweden is taking a concrete step towards reducing the facility’s reliance on fossil fuels and lowering the climate impact associated with its heating.

The initiative has also received a positive assessment from the County Administrative Board of Örebro County, which considers the measure to be in line with the region’s energy and climate strategies.

An investment with long-term climate benefits

In its assessment, Naturvårdsverket concluded that the project is among the measures demonstrating the greatest lasting reduction in greenhouse gas emissions per Swedish krona invested and that it meets the requirements of the Klimatklivet programme.

For Dexion Sweden, the investment is a practical example of how improvements to existing facilities can contribute to reducing fossil fuel use and supporting a more sustainable approach to energy consumption.

“Replacing oil-based heating with geothermal energy is a very concrete step for us. It is an investment in our Fellingsbro facility that will help us reduce our dependence on fossil fuels while providing a more sustainable heating solution for the future,” says Niklas Baeckström, MD of Dexion Sweden.
